UAV "Sirius" will be able to work in reconnaissance and strike circuits with manned aviation

Image
A full-size model of the twin-engine reconnaissance and strike unmanned aerial vehicle "Sirius" created by the Kronstadt Group at the Kronstadt Group (Moscow), 26.02.2021. Image source: Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation Manned aviation acts mainly as a strike weapon against targets detected by Sirius, noted in the company "Kronstadt" MOSCOW, February 4. /TASS/. The latest Russian heavy unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) "Sirius" will be able to work as part of reconnaissance and strike circuits together with manned aviation. This was reported to TASS in the press service of the company "Kronstadt". "The ability to interact with manned aviation means joint work as part of reconnaissance and strike circuits, where the complex with uaVs acts as a reconnaissance and an operational strike weapon against ground and surface objects detected by it. Manned aviation acts mainly as a strike weapon against targets detected by Sirius," the ...

SpaceX put into orbit a new batch of Internet satellites Starlink, brought the constellation to 2089 devices

Image
Image Credit: spacex  Washington. February 3. INTERFAX – A falcon 9 heavy launch vehicle on Thursday successfully launched into orbit a batch of 49 mini-satellites designed to continue the deployment of the global Network of Internet coverage of the Starlink system, the developer of SpaceX said. "The withdrawal of 49 Starlink satellites has been confirmed," the report said. The launch was carried out at 13:13 on the east coast of the United States (at 21:13 Moscow time) from the launch complex 39A at the spaceport at Cape Canaveral in Florida. Liftoff! SpaceX's orbital constellation now consists of 2,089 spacecraft weighing 290 kg each. Currently, the company is the largest satellite operator in the world. About 15.5 minutes after the launch, 49 satellites separated from the second stage of the rocket in an elliptical transition orbit with an altitude of up to 340 km. After checking their performance by SpaceX engineers, the satellites using their own ion engines will ris...

Astronomers have photographed a black hole in the center of a spiral galaxy

Image
Employees of the European Southern Observatory  said  that they received images of the spiral galaxy NGC 7582, in the center of which is a supermassive black hole. The galaxy NGC 7582 is located 70 million light-years from Earth in the constellation Crane. In its core is a supermassive black hole.  The galactic core of NGC 7582 is supplied with energy by a black hole. In the process of this interaction, matter heats up and emits a huge amount of energy and powerful streams of particles into the surrounding space. The authors decided to find out what effect this process has on the entire galaxy. They looked at how the various ionized elements are distributed in it. In the image to the right, oxygen, nitrogen, and hydrogen are shown in blue, green, and red, respectively. The red ones are areas of high star formation activity, the dominant blue areas show the cone-shaped material that comes from the active galactic nucleus. The image on the left shows the same area. ...
